Kent Wedding Venues

Simply the best wedding venues you’ll find in Kent, the Garden of England

If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Kent, you’ve come to the right place!

Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I realise how lucky I am to be a Kent Wedding Photographer – not only do I get to meet and work with some absolutely amazing couples, I also get to photograph at some of the most gorgeous wedding venues the country has to offer. They don’t call Kent the Garden of England for nothing, you know, and it really is one of the best counties to get married in!

Your wedding venue is extremely important, so it’s vital you choose one that you absolutely fall head over heels in love with. I’ve compiled a list below of some of the best wedding venues that Kent has to offer, and there’ll be plenty more venues added to this page before the year is out.

So without further ado, here are some of my favourite wedding venues in Kent (click on the thumbnails for more info):

Danson House Wedding Venue

Danson House Wedding Venue

A Grade I listed Palladian villa, and just down the road from where I live…

Not only is Danson House wedding venue a brilliant place to get married, it’s only a couple of miles down the road from where I live. Result!

It’s a stunning Grade 1 listed Georgian villa designed by Sir Robert Taylor, the architect of the Bank of England, built in 1766. Set in more than 200 acres of magnificent parkland overlooking the sparkling Danson Lake, it is the perfect location for your wedding or ceremony.

Danson House offers various rooms depending on the size of your wedding party, and these are

  • The Dining Room – decorated in romantic gold’s and paintings telling stories of love (65 guests)
  • Sir John Boyds Room – an informal room, located on the top floor, with stunning views over Danson Park for medium sized wedding parties (25 guests)
  • The Library – also known as the music room hosting the magnificent Danson organ and overlooking the green lawns (65 guests)
  • The Salon – an octagonal room with sumptuous wall coverings and stylish decoration (45 guests)
  • The Johnston Room – an informal room with stunning views, located on the top floor of Danson House for smaller wedding parties (12 guests).

Lympne Castle Wedding Venue

Lympne Castle Wedding Venue

A beautiful Grade I building dating back to the 13th century

Lympne Castle Wedding Venue is absolutely steeped in history, and you can literally feel it even when you approach the surrounding area.

Lympne Castle has been providing hospitality to visiting nobles since the 13th century (I know – crazy!), and even has connections back to Roman times. The views from the terrace over the south coast are spectacular to behold.

It’s comprised of the West Wing and The Great Hall. The West Wing Drawing Room was added in Edwardian times when the famous architect Sir Robert Lorimer was commissioned to restore the castle, which was then near to ruin. The Great Hall has part panelled walls, wooden roof beams and gothic arched windows, and is ideal for a larger civil wedding ceremony seating up to 120 guests and a wedding breakfast for up to 100.

For a truly unique and historical wedding venue, Lympne Castle is an absolute must!

Rowhill Grange Hotel Wedding Venue

Rowhill Grange Hotel Wedding Venue

One of the most romantic wedding venues situated just outside of London

If you’re looking for a luxury 4 star hotel and a spa for the ultimate in wedding day opulence, the Rowhill Grange Hotel wedding venue might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Here’s a little bit of history from their website:

“Rowhill Grange’s history dates back to 1868 when Alice Alexander’s family built her a summer house.

Alice and her family lived in that summer house until 1916 when Sir George Cole (Lord Mayor of London and a keen breeder of Shetland Ponies) bought the property. Cole lived in the property for twelve years before selling it to Leslie and Lucy Waites who transformed the property into a family home with a beautiful garden – laying the foundations of what you can see here today.”

I’ve been lucky enough to photograph a couple of weddings at Rowhill Grange, including Candice and Simon’s and Gemma and Tom’s – you can see both of them below.

Rowhill Grange offers three wedding suites for your ceremony (depending on your needs), and these are The Clockhouse, Wedding Gazebo and The Cottage Suite.

They also offer a range of wedding packages, so whether you have 20 or 200 guests you’ll be well catered for!

Hop Farm Wedding Venue

Hop Farm Kent Wedding Venue

A unique wedding venue right in the heart of the Kent countryside

I only discovered Hop Farm wedding venue in Kent back in 2018 when I photographed Elaine & Luke’s fantastic wedding, on what was one of the hottest days of the year. Luckily there were plenty of refreshments on tap to keep all the guests thoroughly hydrated (and maybe a little tipsy too!)

What can I tell you about Hop Farm? Well, it’s probably one of the most recognisable wedding venues in all of Kent, boasting the world’s largest collection of Victorian oast houses. It was originally owned by the Whitbread brewery company, and has only changed hands four times in the last 450 years. Back in the day it operated as a fully working farm before opening its doors to the public.

Hop Farm is bang in the heart of the Kent countryside, meaning it’s a unique and beautiful wedding venue. The outdoor gazebo provides a gorgeous setting for your ceremony, and a number of barns are available to hire for larger wedding parties.

Chilston Park Hotel Wedding Venue

Chilston Park Hotel Wedding Venue

A 17th-century manor house surrounded by 22 acres of stunning Kent parkland

Set in 22 acres of parkland, Chilston Park Hotel is a very special wedding venue indeed!

You can tell when you’re approaching the hotel via the extremely long driveway that Chilston Park is one of Kent’s premier wedding venues. Over the years it’s also been home to MP’s and politicians, and it also features a two AA rosette restaurant (I can vouch for the fact the food is excellent).

The hotel dates back to the 17th century, and also contains a plethora of antiques (some as old as the house itself. Be careful where you’re walking!)
