Wedding photographer. Guitarist. Lurker. Cake enthusiast.
If you’d like to know who’ll be turning up with a camera on your wedding day, this is probably a good place to start.
A little about me.
Instead of bombarding you with the usual wedding photographer clichés (“I love capturing beautiful moments on your special day” etc etc…yawn), I thought I’d give you a quick glimpse into my photographic journey instead.
Brace yourself, and drink plenty of coffee.
- I received my first camera when I was 6, a Kodak Instamatic.
- If that doesn’t give my age away, nothing will.
- I’m also a keen guitarist, and luckily one of my neighbours is hard of hearing.
- The other neighbour, however, isn’t (we don’t speak – hey-ho).
- I’m an Essex boy (keep it to yourself please).
- I’m within touching distance of some beautiful countryside and gorgeous wedding venues, but I also travel all over the country photographing weddings.
- I’m addicted to coffee. And cake. Preferably consumed together.
- I have eight guitars, which isn’t anywhere near enough.
- I used to have eleven guitars, which still isn’t anywhere near enough.
- I like to think I have a great sense of humour, and I’ll happily mingle with all your guests sharing a laugh and a joke.
- Think of me as one of your guests, but one who happens to take some pretty decent photographs too.
- I have a serious wanderlust. If you’re getting married in the Maldives, holla (subtle I ain’t…)
- I drink far too much coffee.
- I once sat next to Dermot O’Leary for a year at VIth Form College. Whenever I entered the classroom he’d exclaim, “Dan Dan! He’s our man! If he can’t do it, no-one can!”
- So far that’s my only real claim to fame.
- Did I mention I drink too much coffee?
- I’m also currently looking at my guitars thinking I can do with adding another to the collection. Please send help.
- So that’s me – if you’d like to work with a caffeine-addicted, guitar-playing, cake-munching wedding photographer, then I’d love to hear from you!
In summary!
I love:
- Coffee (combine it with cake, and it’s game over. Drooool).
- Photography (like, duh…)
- Music (it’s the food of love, don’t you know)
- Guitars (the neighbours love me)
- Cake (my waistline doesn’t love me)
- Liverpool FC (let’s not talk about this season)
- Travel (Greek islands ftw)
Finding Dan to photograph our wedding feels like we struck gold. We knew he just “got” us and what we were about from the first time we met with him.

No awkward posing, promise
When your wedding day arrives, I’m not there to turn it into a photoshoot. I’m there to capture it as it happens – the big emotional moments, the laughter, the hugs, the slightly chaotic bits, and all the little in-between moments that make the day yours.
I’ll guide you when needed, but I’m not going to spend half the day barking instructions or making you do anything that feels awkward. Most of the time, I’m quietly blending in, camera in hand, documenting it all as naturally as possible.
The result is a set of photographs that feel like your wedding did – relaxed, full of life, and unmistakably yours! Woohoo!
I may also pinch a bit of wedding cake before I go home.
Hope that’s okay.
